Last day in Egypt, early wake up to go to Abassa with Abdallah, in search of Painted Snipe. Two females rapidly found along the worldwide famous canal in Abassa, then a few species added to the trip list, such as Wryneck, Little Bittern, Senegal Thicknee. Searches for Streaked Weavers and Avadavats were totally unsuccessful: no weavers are around at this time of year, they probably disperse far away; we visited many reedbeds without meeting any. Clamorous Reed Warblers singing everywhere, and two Senegal Coucals very well seen, a third one singing (they start to show well at this time of year).
